Review of The Private Club

At the end of the Ex Games, Katie’s friend Meg, who had lost her job due to Brandon, was looking for a job. She was going for a job interview at The Private Club to be a bartender. A little background on Meg is that she was a lawyer and is 25 years old. When she arrived she met Greyson (such a hot guy name), who is the owner of the Private Club. When he gets in her office, he tells her to “Taker your clothes off” (Wowzer) and Meg does not do this, she gets feisty, he gets a phone call and it is Brandon and Greyson says that Brandon cannot tell him who he can hire….this turns out to make Meg determined to take the job to find out why her best friend’s boyfriend doesn’t want her to take this job and how he knows Greyson and what is going on at the Private Club. It makes Greyson want to hire her to find out how Brandon knows her. She is offered the job and she accepts and she now has three days to prove she’s got what it takes to work at the Private Club. The problem, no one will tell her what the job is, and it is definitely not bartending. She tries to get Greyson to tell her and he wants to know how juicy her lips are she tries to say no and act like the attraction isn’t mutual and backs up but gets caught up in her heels and she falls. He helps her up and he takes a taste. She accuses him of sexual harrasment and he says-

I’d never had such a base reaction to a man before. Greyson Twining intrigued me and attracted me. My loins ached to touch and be touched by him. The visceral reaction I had when I saw him made my blood boil over with heat.” Meg- Location 138

Though Meg tells Greyson that she doesn’t want him to touch, kiss her or anything else. His response-

“I’m going to honor your wishes. The next time my lips meet yours will be because you begged me to kiss you. It will be because you couldn’t go another second without the feel of my hands caressing your body.” Greyson- Location 191

Her training involves staying at the club for three days. She is put with a roommate Nancy, whose sister came to the club and disappeared and she was there to find out what happened. There are other girls there for “training” not all as friendly as Nancy. Then there is Patsy, the leader of the training and secretary for Greyson. All is not what it seems though…Brandon definely has involvement in this story.

There are so many twist and turns in this book. The way Greyson pursues Meg, is sweet, hot and passionate! Meg spends the stroy finding out things, then something else contradictory to what she knew. The secrets everyone holds, she doesn’t know who to trust and what she should do next. There are times she wants to give up and just live. But she feels a connection to Greyson, one that makes her feel alive and heated.

I would highley recommend this book, the writing is amazing. Just when you think you got it, you find out something new.

A Review of The Ex Games by JS Cooper

imageI read the Ex Games by JS Cooper and oh my how hot and steamy can you get….well throw in some deceit and twists and turns and you have the ex-games. I am glad I was able to read it as a box set because it would have killed me to wait for the next one. JS Cooper makes you want to turn the pages to find out what hapens next! Before I get into my review, let me share that Ex Games is part of a group of serials that are just as good. Here is the reading order-

Alright on to my review-

Meet Katie, a 25 year old, who just landed the job of her dreams. It is the job of her dreams and nightmares actually. See her ex-boyfriend Brandon has just bought her company that she just started at. She is his ex because she  lied to  him and told him she was 22, when she was 18, and made up a whole lfe that wasn’t and she got caught and he ended it. His ending it broke her and there was the other secret she had.

Her now boss and ex, Brandon, ia 42 and was 35 when it went down, called training in San Francisco and after 7 years since he found out and left her they would come face to face. Needless to say Katie is in panic mode. She hopes he won’t remember her, well not really but she tells her friend Meg that.

So the book starts and the beginning  and throughout the book is reminicing about what happened in the past. Brandon found her outside a bar, sick and alone. He ended up taking her back to his apartment, the two of them had a connection and soon spent everyday together. He took her virginity and they HOT for each other after!! Oh my, they were all over each other, he had her move in. However, it would one day come to a screeching hault when he came into lecture to her FRESHMAN class and after the class, he wouldn’t speak to her, she chased after her and she begged him to come back, he says if she loves him, she will have sex with him anywhere and screws her against a dumpster and when he is done, he leaves her there and says they are done.

DAMN! Talk about cruel and that isn’t even the worst of it.

Bring to present day and Katie is at training, she gets to the building and gets on the elevator and who should get on with her but Brandon. He hasn’t forgotten who she is, in fact he kisses her on the elevator and says  ‘That’s for the memories’. Katie flashes back to earlier when they had sex on an elevator in his office building, (you may nee a fan it is hot.) Bring back the present Brandon apologizes annd says “Sorry for the kiss, I forogto for a moment.” They offer small talk and then Brandon starts in about whether her resume was faked and he gives her a hard time, she remembers the day he finds out and eventually they get off the elevator.

Well he sits next to her in the training room and taunts her. Brandon still has power over Katie and she doens’t like it or maybe she does. After a tortuous meeting, Katie is grateful for a break and goes to the bathroom to get it togther and when she comes out Brandon is there and says “You didn’t call.” and they go back and fourth about their past and working together and

Brandon says, “I want to touch you…I want to taste you…I told you once that I would possess your body and I owned you. Well, I want to take what’s mine.

The two ended back in the bathroom for some hot and passionate sex. Katie starts to think that maybe this job was about to be the best thing that could of happened to her, until Brandon’s secretary comes in to announce that Brandon had to take an emergence call from his FIANCE’!! (End Book One)

For book two and book three you find Katie and Brandon hurting each other, forgiving each other, finding passion with one another and reminicsing about what happened and what happened now. There were some BIG, I mean HUGE secrets revealed in books 2 & 3. There were twists and turns and the unexpected. This book was really good. My only issue was the last thing Brandon did before they were really back together in the bar. I thought that went to far and I am not sure how Katie forgave him.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance novels. JS Cooper is an amazing writer who gets you very engaged in her characters. If you like hot and steamy, this book has it, if you like twist and turns, this book has it, if you want a villan, this book has it. I think this is one of my favorite serials, especially when wrapped up with the other serials. I give it ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ click here for what rating means

I am looking forward to Games, Clubs & Trials coming out December 23, 2014 as the finale to the three series!!!

So I am debating do I review the Until books as a series or each book in the series as a standalone…thinking series. Just completed Asher & November’s story and almost done with Trevor & Liz’s story. The Mayson brothers are HOT!! They are womanizers and they have a curse and for the rest of the story you will have to way until I finish them..

Officer out of Uniform Giveaway Graphic

The only thing better than a man in uniform is a man out of uniform. Sasha has never been more certain of anything in her life, and she’s never wanted anyone more than she wants Officer Henry Dryden. Tall, tough and battle-scarred, he’s the first man to capture not just her eye, but her heart. With curves and the confidence to use them, it’s not hard to attract his attention, or get him to break out those cuffs and keys. But for the first time, getting exactly what she wants feels dangerously like risking it all.

There’s no question about the one thing Henry wants most when it comes to Sasha: to protect her. After their coastal North Carolina community is sent a message via the brutal murder of the prison warden, no one is safe. Henry can’t afford to be distracted by things like the all-consuming desire Sasha inspires. There’ll be time for that later … if he can keep her from getting caught in the crossfire of a killer’s revenge scheme. Haunted by the ghosts of his past, he’ll do anything to avoid being the only one to walk out of a war zone alive again. The way forward is clear: stop the convict who’s hunting officers in Riley County, and keep Sasha safe … or die trying.
