Title: Hawke (Cold Fury, Book #5)
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: March 15, 2016

Synopsis:
The New York Times bestselling hockey series featuring the Carolina Cold Fury continues as the team’s most notorious party animal gets blindsided by the one that got away.

Off the ice, elite defenseman Hawke Therrien enjoys his fair share of booze and good times. And why shouldn’t he? He’s worked his way up from the minor leagues and made himself a star. The only thing Hawke misses from that life is the pierced, tattooed free spirit who broke his heart without so much as an explanation. She’s almost unrecognizable when she walks back into his life seven years later—except for the look in her eyes that feels like a punch to the gut.

Vale Campbell isn’t the same girl she was at twenty. As crazy as she was about Hawke, her reckless behavior and out-of-control drinking were starting to scare her. She had to clean up her act, and that would never happen with Hawke around. Cutting him loose was the hardest thing Vale ever had to do—until now. Because she’s still crazy about Hawke. And if he could ever learn to forgive her, they just might have a future together.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When Hawke and Vale were young their love burned fast and bright, until one day it wasn’t. Now, 7 years later and both hold onto anger and resentment from their past but the  both are working for the Carolina Fury now and have to be professional right?
However, the sparks, both angry and passionate, whenever they are alone. So much for not feeling anything anymore. At first Hawke and Vale fight their feelings, but it soon becomes too much. They burn just as bright until, well reading it yourself will make it so much better.
I love the Carolina Fury!! This series is fantastic!!! The characters are so engaging and I love checking back in with other couples from the series. This has some great things happening to previous couples. Every one of these books in this series are so enjoyable. I can never put them down when I read them, usually read them in one day.
I am a total fan of Hawke!! He was a great character. Vale frustrated me at time because I wanted her to tell Hawke the complete story. But together, they make a a great couple. If only they would communicate about what is going on between them, both in the past or present. Overall a great story.
