A Review of The Ex Games by JS Cooper

imageI read the Ex Games by JS Cooper and oh my how hot and steamy can you get….well throw in some deceit and twists and turns and you have the ex-games. I am glad I was able to read it as a box set because it would have killed me to wait for the next one. JS Cooper makes you want to turn the pages to find out what hapens next! Before I get into my review, let me share that Ex Games is part of a group of serials that are just as good. Here is the reading order-

Alright on to my review-

Meet Katie, a 25 year old, who just landed the job of her dreams. It is the job of her dreams and nightmares actually. See her ex-boyfriend Brandon has just bought her company that she just started at. She is his ex because she  lied to  him and told him she was 22, when she was 18, and made up a whole lfe that wasn’t and she got caught and he ended it. His ending it broke her and there was the other secret she had.

Her now boss and ex, Brandon, ia 42 and was 35 when it went down, called training in San Francisco and after 7 years since he found out and left her they would come face to face. Needless to say Katie is in panic mode. She hopes he won’t remember her, well not really but she tells her friend Meg that.

So the book starts and the beginning  and throughout the book is reminicing about what happened in the past. Brandon found her outside a bar, sick and alone. He ended up taking her back to his apartment, the two of them had a connection and soon spent everyday together. He took her virginity and they HOT for each other after!! Oh my, they were all over each other, he had her move in. However, it would one day come to a screeching hault when he came into lecture to her FRESHMAN class and after the class, he wouldn’t speak to her, she chased after her and she begged him to come back, he says if she loves him, she will have sex with him anywhere and screws her against a dumpster and when he is done, he leaves her there and says they are done.

DAMN! Talk about cruel and that isn’t even the worst of it.

Bring to present day and Katie is at training, she gets to the building and gets on the elevator and who should get on with her but Brandon. He hasn’t forgotten who she is, in fact he kisses her on the elevator and says  ‘That’s for the memories’. Katie flashes back to earlier when they had sex on an elevator in his office building, (you may nee a fan it is hot.) Bring back the present Brandon apologizes annd says “Sorry for the kiss, I forogto for a moment.” They offer small talk and then Brandon starts in about whether her resume was faked and he gives her a hard time, she remembers the day he finds out and eventually they get off the elevator.

Well he sits next to her in the training room and taunts her. Brandon still has power over Katie and she doens’t like it or maybe she does. After a tortuous meeting, Katie is grateful for a break and goes to the bathroom to get it togther and when she comes out Brandon is there and says “You didn’t call.” and they go back and fourth about their past and working together and

Brandon says, “I want to touch you…I want to taste you…I told you once that I would possess your body and I owned you. Well, I want to take what’s mine.

The two ended back in the bathroom for some hot and passionate sex. Katie starts to think that maybe this job was about to be the best thing that could of happened to her, until Brandon’s secretary comes in to announce that Brandon had to take an emergence call from his FIANCE’!! (End Book One)

For book two and book three you find Katie and Brandon hurting each other, forgiving each other, finding passion with one another and reminicsing about what happened and what happened now. There were some BIG, I mean HUGE secrets revealed in books 2 & 3. There were twists and turns and the unexpected. This book was really good. My only issue was the last thing Brandon did before they were really back together in the bar. I thought that went to far and I am not sure how Katie forgave him.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance novels. JS Cooper is an amazing writer who gets you very engaged in her characters. If you like hot and steamy, this book has it, if you like twist and turns, this book has it, if you want a villan, this book has it. I think this is one of my favorite serials, especially when wrapped up with the other serials. I give it ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ click here for what rating means

I am looking forward to Games, Clubs & Trials coming out December 23, 2014 as the finale to the three series!!!

I am also looking forward to Illusion J.S. Cooer’s next book that is coming out on November 11! You can pre-order on amazon
